Varied and beautiful round tour in the south of Lübeck.
Cycling through suburbs, meadows and forests as well as beautiful lake landscapes. A unique nature reserve, which is due to the former border almost 40 years. Also called "Amazon of the North".

      Kempen - Grefrath - Hülsdonk - Tönisvorst - Kempen
The charming town of Kempen is the starting point for an excursion on which even the little ones will get their money's worth: they will be particularly impressed by the large toy collection in the open-air museum in Dorenburg.

Straelen - Wachtendonk - Nieukerk -Straelen
The green side of the Lower Rhine: wide fields of flowers near Straelen, asparagus fields in Walbeck, and in the middle the historic town of Wachtendonk with its listed townscape. Of course, there are also old churches and windmills on the way of the varied landscape tour.

      Wesel - Rheinberg - Wesel
The classic Rhine tour with beautiful river panoramas connects the fortress town of Wesel with the Roman town of Xanten. 1 The landscape is very attractive because of its extensive floodplain areas, but also because of the occasional contrast between the recreational and industrial landscape on the northern edge of the Ruhr area.

      Money - Kevelaer - Money
This circular tour, which starts in Geldern, connects classic destinations on the Lower Rhine. It leads from the remarkable historic city center, which once gave the name to an entire region, the Dutch Gelderland, to Germany's most important pilgrimage destination, Germany, and crosses one of the best-known asparagus growing areas, to which tens of thousands of gourmets make a pilgrimage in spring.

      Hamminkeln - Ringenberg - Dingden - Esselt House - Krudenburg - Wesel - Diersfordt Castle - Hamminkeln
Martial conflicts shaped history on the Lower Rhine. In the middle of the charming, peaceful, rural landscape, castles tell of local feuds of the Middle Ages, and the fortress city of Wesel illustrates the development of military fortress construction until the early 20th century. The opposite tradition is embodied by the artist Otto Pankok, who committed himself to peace and persecuted minorities throughout his life. Many of his works can be viewed in his studio. But castles, churches and windmills along the way are also worth a cycling break.

      Xanten -Rees -Xanten
The varied tour leads to important evidence of the history of the Lower Rhine. The route runs from the Roman city of Colonia Ulpia Traiana via medieval Xanten to the fortress city of Rees, which was fiercely contested in the Dutch-Spanish war. Important religious centers such as the Viktor cathedral in Xanten and the pilgrimage church in Marienbaum are worth a visit, as are windmills and home museums. The stages near the Rhine are particularly scenic.
Important: Note the ferry times, otherwise you will have to take a 30 km detour over the Rhine bridge in Wesel.

      Kleve - Kalkar - Bedburg-Hau - Kleve
The varied tour leads to great panoramas and the greatest art treasures on the Lower Rhine. The view from the tower of the Schwanenburg in Kleve offers a beautiful view of the landscape on the Lower Rhine right from the start, which lures here with extraordinarily attractive cycling stages on the Drusus dyke between Kleve and cattle and along the old Rhine between Düffelward and Griethausen.
It is home to great artists whose works can be found in museums and churches along the route. The proud list of artists ranges from the medieval wood carvers in Kalkar to the landscape painter Barend Cornelis Koekkoek and the graphic artist and sculptor Ewald Matare to Joseph Beuys. Historic castles and palaces such as the Schwanenburg and Moyland Castle in Bedburg-Hau line the path. Important churches such as the Nicolai Church in Kalkar or the parish church in Kleve-Cattle are worth a visit, and a windmill in Kalkar invites you to stop.

The tour first leads along the railway line of the former Wippertalbahn past Ohl, Wipperfürth and Hückeswagen. On the banks of the Wupper Reservoir, we cycle to the Kräwinklerbrücke recreation area at the Wuppertalsperre. Here you have to translate to the other side of the dam and continue on the next railway track bike path slightly uphill to Radevormwald. Via Bergische Höhen it goes back on roads with little traffic, via Kreuzberg and downhill past the Kerspetalsperre to Rönsahl. Back to Marienheide on the Bahntrassenradweg.
