Strolling along the small Pegnitz island past the lovingly restored houses of the flea market, it's hard to believe that pigs were traded on the former "pig market" in the Middle Ages. On Lovers' Island, you can simply lie in the grass, listen to the gentle lapping of the Pegnitz, or take a romantic ride in a Venetian gondola. Venice and Nuremberg sealed their city partnership in 1954.
