The Peace Bell in Frankfurt (Oder) is an architectural monument for the Oder-Neisse border, which was then called the Oder-Neisse Peace Border. The GDR had already accepted the Oder-Neisse border with the Görlitz Agreement in 1949. Frankfurt (Oder) thus became a border town and the eastern districts became Polish as Słubice. Traditionally, the bell is rung on September 1st on World Peace Day.

In Frankfurt Oder, no trip can be completed without visiting the Peace Bell.
In the Görlitz Agreement of 1949, the GDR had accepted the border with Poland. From then on the border was called the German-Polish Peace Border. The memorial in Frankfurt (Oder) commemorates the agreement. The three-ton peace bell with the inscription "Peace and friendship with all peoples" was erected in 1953. It was donated by the CDU of the GDR in 1953. The bell has been hanging on the Oder Promenade in a stainless steel tower since 2011. Previously it hung at the northern end of the Holzmarkt in a bell house that was built according to plans by Johannes Müller. A stone slab with the following dedication to the Oder promenade has been moved from the old bell house: "Peace - on the occasion of the signing of the contract on the Oder-Neisse border.
The bell hung in a bell house designed by Johannes Müller on Holzmarkt until 2011.
