Day 3: Berlin walk
Spent the day in Berlin, I had a list of things I wanted to visit and did them all. The East Side Gallery, Berlin Wall was interesting, not so much orginal work but added at a later date. Walked from there to Markthalle Neun which is a food market, so good, lots of street food, Bavarian Mac and Cheese was tasty. I’ve been here a few times and seen the changes, first here in 1993 when living in Dresden.

Day 2: Berlin
Got the train from Brussels to Cologne then connection to Berlin. Got chillier the further east I went. Train was absolutely full, no spare seats in first class all reserved, I learnt that in December. The walk was as short as it seemed, just 20m from station. Triple glazed room can’t hear anything, The hotel is very nice I booked BandB but then had it down as room only. Breakfast is 25€ per night, luckily I had an email so no need to pat extra. Walking around Berlin tomorrow, 900m from Brandenburg Gate, so excellent.

Day 1: Brussels
Avanti 1st class, trains are much nicer than Eurostar, even the choice of food is better. Very seat taken so busy. The hotel is just across the road from the station so easy to find. Went for a walk into the centre, nice and warm so all the bars and cafes with outdoor seating bars were busy.

Day 1: Coventry to Brussels by Eurostar
Another get away to Berlin this time for the Berlin Bike Show. St Pancras is over busy again even for 13.00 train. Forgot SD card reader for the camera, went to a shop and had to explain about downloading from a camera card, not sure they knew about the SD card or what a camera is. One guy did say use your phone then added you do have a phone don’t you. I’m sure it’s further than 147 yards as well, in Brussels tonight…

Had trouble with my orange bike re-spray so back to my Lee Cooper Reynolds frame bike. Can't believe how nice it is...
