The Neisse Bridge near Groß Gastrose is an old bridge between Germany and Poland that was attempted to be blown up during the Second World War. However, only a small part on the German side fell apart. The main part above the Neisse and the part on today's Polish side were preserved. Between 1945 and 2007 a fence prevented crossing. Since the Schengen Agreement, the bridge can be crossed again. The Groß Gastros fire department built a small staircase on the German side so that the difference in height could be overcome despite the missing bridge section. It is a very interesting, historical and beautiful place.

Whimsical as Poland is still separated from Germany and World War II has an effect!
