The mountain zoo hall is a very beautiful zoo in which one can stay very well. It is intended for everyone, information for everyone, playgrounds, benches and meals. You have in many places a very good view of Halle and surroundings. You do not have long paths and can see many enclosures from different sides. It is meant for all generations. During the week unfortunately only until 17.00 o'clock open.

The mountain zoo in Halle is unique in Germany. Here lives the oldest sloth in the world. Since 1901, the mountain zoo with 9 hectares at a height of 130 meters exists in Halle. It is allowed to take your own dog on a tour through the wildlife. 2.50 euros. Adults 9.50 euros. Children 4,50 Euro. A parking garage is nearby for 1.00 euros per hour. From the observation tower on the 130 meter high Reilsberg you have a fantastic view over the whole city.

I am enthusiastic about the mountain zoo in Halle. 😀👍 From the train station it is easy to get there either by S-Bahn 3 or Tram 12 direction Trotha. The tram line 12 stops right in front of the entrance to the zoo. Travel time about 10 -15 minutes.
The mountain zoo itself is beautifully landscaped with many animals of different genus. But as the name implies, it is on a mountain.
Feeding is allowed on some specially designated enclosures. Either via feeders or at feeding stations.
My conclusion: a very nice zoo, one has the feeling of being almost close to the animals.
At high temperatures, it is recommended at 9:00 clock, the zoo is opened to be there, because 1. from noon when it gets really hot, it can be very exhausting.
    2. Most animals are looking for shade or are full and retreat, what they usually like to do at lunchtime, even without heat wave 😉.
and 3. It takes time to really admire and admire everything. For the physical well-being, such as benches and toilets is taken care of in different places. It's worth a visit!!!
