On March 31, 1945 it was destroyed in a bomb attack. Inaugurated again exactly six years later, as the state theater of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, it was named Landestheater Halle. On January 1, 1992, the Halle Opera House, the only opera house in Saxony-Anhalt, emerged from this. Oper Halle has been part of Theater, Oper und Orchester GmbH since 2009.
