For centuries, heavy horse-drawn carts with copper ore and stones rolled over the bridge, for centuries it defied all the masses of water, ice drifts and even heavy tanks at the end of the Second World War. In order to meet today's traffic requirements, the bridge was completely refurbished and renovated in 1995 by the district of Kulmbach.
