Lots of options to suite all abilities. Parking can be a problem when busy, so for the best experience and sometimes the entire place to yourself, head there out of peak hours and days.

Nice riding all round the reservoir and some great bridleways away from it. Can be a nightmare to park up, especially busy at the weekends. If it’s a sunny day leave early, any later and there’s no point you won’t get parked.

During the Second World War, the reservoir was used by pilots of the 617 Squadron for practising the low-level flights needed for Operation Chastise (commonly known as the "Dam Busters" raids)
