The Matthias-Claudius-Gymnasium in Witthöftstraße 1 was built in 1904-05 as the first Catholic church in Wandsbek after the Reformation. The building was based on Romanesque models and has a cross-shaped floor plan. A roof turret replaces the tower.

The Matthias-Claudius-Gymnasium (MCG) is a high school in Hamburg-Wandsbek with the address Witthöfftstraße 8.
