Replica of a watchtower of the Eppinger Linien. The Eppinger Linien was a fortified line of defense that extended from Weißenstein near Pforzheim via Mühlacker, Sternenfels, Eppingen to Neckargemünd. It had a total length of 86 km. The Eppinger lines were built in the years 1695 to 1697 under the margrave Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden, also known as "Türkenlouis", to prevent French raids in the Palatinate War of Succession (1688-1697).
