The baroque Ludwigsburg and later the medieval Marbach also impressed us with their beautiful inner cities and castles.
After Benningen, the Neckar is divided into a canal and a Neckar arm. From Pleidelsheim it continues together through the hairpin bends at Mundelsheim.
Our lunch break at Heinzi at the Mundelsheim swimming pool was also quite nice!
Steep vineyards dominate the landscape here.
In Besigheim it is worth visiting the historic city center. We missed that but did not miss the point where the Enz Valley branches off into the Black Forest.
After several romantic hairpin bends we reached Lauffen with its beautiful cityscape.
Heilbronn with its Kilianskirche is then not far away. We reached the city center and the train station on the right side of the canal with beautiful parks and banks. Promenade, leisure facilities, restaurants etc. were well attended. The long waiting line in front of the ice cream factory stopped us from hoping for ice cream!
