Information:
The name derives from the Taucherwald (Diver's Forest) near Uhyst, located about 15 km west of the city. Construction of the new Taucherkirche began in 1598. The building was consecrated in 1599. During the Thirty Years' War, the roof was completely destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt in 1628. Several major renovations took place in the 18th and 19th centuries.
