In the south, an artificial dam about 30 meters wide separates Lake Fahrländer from the Sacrow-Paretzer Canal. The Sacrow-Paretzer Canal is a federal waterway. This dam has an opening to the canal about 100 m wide. The lake is closed to shipping.
