The Bornstedt village church is one of the most beautiful churches in Potsdam. The nave built in the Italian style in 1854-56 is supplemented by a detached tower and arcades (similar to the Church of Peace in Sanssouci Park). King Friedrich Wilhelm IV himself provided the ideas for the redesign of an earlier building from 1806.

The Bornstedter Friedhof with church is located directly opposite the Bornstedt Crown Estate in close proximity to the Potsdam Orangery. The Bornstedter church with free-standing campanile in Italian architectural style was built in 1842/43 at the request of King Friedrich Wilhelm IV.
