The Winzerberg is located in Potsdam, east of Sanssouci Park. The entrance from the southern foot of the hill is formed by the imposing Triumphal Gate. The Winzerberg belongs to the administrative portfolio of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg, is maintained by a support association that has already completely restored it and has been part of the Potsdam World Heritage Site since 1990.
The Winzerberg is formed by four terraces, which are tiered towards the south by five sloping walls and which rise a good 17 meters behind an approximately 3,500 square meter front area. From there, the winegrower's house, which is at the highest point, can be reached directly via a staircase on the western edge or from behind via a ramp on the eastern edge. The first vineyard terrace can be reached via the central, double Bacchus staircase, which is used to overcome the lowest and highest of the hillside walls. The site is surrounded by a wall, the entrance portal of which represents the triumphal gate and which is formed into semicircular exedra benches and sculpted niches on the outside.

The Winzerberg was built from 1764 as an extension of the Sanssouci palace complex. During World War II, an air raid shelter was built under the Winzerberg. After 1945 it became overgrown and the terraced complex fell into disrepair. Since 2004, a support association has been taking care of the facility and the restoration with great commitment.
