The waterfall is an absolute fun for my children. The descent is sometimes a bit steep, so you should be very careful in rainy and wintry weather. The outgoing from here hiking trails around the valley are also not to be despised. We as Offroadwanderer come here fully at our expense as soon as we leave the "normal" ways.

    Great waterfall!
Especially after heavy rains / thawing he thunders down the 9 meters with a lot of noise.

An idyllic waterfall in spectacular surroundings. At a relatively short distance the area changes from river Canyon to Venn Heide landscape.
    Absolutely worthwhile.

In advance you should inquire if the waterfall because enough water. This would really diminish the value of this otherwise great tour.

It is worth to visit the waterfall. The off-road hikes in the environment are also worth experiencing. Simply beautiful nature.

The Cascade du Bayehon falls 9 meters deep and especially after rain or thaw with a lot of noise.
Especially sure-footed can descend directly to the waterfall.
With smoothness and / or snow, this is not recommended!

We were at the time where there was still snow and it was very smooth, it is not recommended in the winter months to visit the waterfall.

The Bayehon Waterfall (Cascade du Bayehon) lies on the southern edge of the High Fens, between Ovifat and Longfay and is the highest, natural waterfall in Belgium.
The pyritic water of the brook has a slightly reddish tint and forms foam in eddies - as is normal for High Venn water. The water from the peat bogs contains vegetable saponins and unsaturated fatty acids with a foaming effect.

Very nice little waterfall. The descent is steep but worth it. The surrounding countryside offers beautiful walks.

Very beautiful and large waterfall, in the winter months, the ascent to the waterfall is very dangerous, as it is very smooth in the slopes to climb down there.
