A great viewpoint at 813m - with summit cross and book! Definitely enjoy the view before going back into the woods.

Once upon a time, Schloss Karlstein was said to have stood on the Hohen Matze, which can not be documented. The name, still "mazen" in 1393, later "meze" and "mätze", means Weideberg.

Good rest after the ascent of the Wurmlohpass before it goes down to the Girgelhöhle. The summit cross in the sunset is awesome

At the foot of the summit rock is a nice rest area with a view of the Kösseine

The watershed between the North Sea and the Black Sea, the 50th parallel and the Höhenweg run over the Hohe Matze.
Unfortunately there is no distant view even after a climbing tour.

Here you do not have such a good view but climbing is fun as you know.
