The varied hunters' trails lead without any opportunity to stop for refreshments on partially narrow paths through spruce and beech forests around the upper Langenauer valley with many clear views from steep, unsecured rock sections into the valley. In some places a certain level of sure-footedness is required. Highlights are the ramparts of Burgstein (the destroyed Wallenrode Castle; information board), the Eichendorff fountain, the Kämmleinsfelsen, the Rauhgrund, Grießbachgrund and the "Schwammerling" lookout point (the "Schwamma" that used to stand here - as in Schwarzenstein - was not rebuilt due to the limited view). This circular route also requires sturdy shoes, is not suitable for cycling and should not be used in the snow. In summer you can discover some botanical rarities.
