This fen is mainly composed of peat soils covered by groups of raised bogs, most often completely degraded by molinia. It is drained in a regular and geometric fashion by wet ditches which intersect at right angles.
Located in the middle of the fen, the small wooded space of the Geitzbusch is made up of an oak grove.
