The Palatinate Forest Nature Park is the German part of the cross-border Palatinate Forest-Northern Vosges biosphere reserve. A unique protected area.
Because the landscape is largely unaffected by noise and environmental damage and the unique flora and fauna, it is part of the global network of UNESCO biosphere reserves and is therefore part of the global network for the conservation of biological diversity on earth.
In addition, it should be demonstrated here in a model way how a harmonious coexistence of man and nature can look like. In this way, the recovery of the population, a landscape-related experience of nature and compatible tourism are to be secured. Information on this can be found at pfaelzerwald.de
The biosphere experience camp is a natural camping site without the usual comfort. There is only a pavilion for grilling, a wash house and simple toilets. Fresh water can be pumped up from a depth of 10 meters with a hand pump using your own muscle power. Firewood can be searched in the forest. Two biological clarifiers clean the used water. Chemical cleaning and body care products must therefore not be used. There is a natural pond for swimming right next to the campsite.
The focus here is on experiencing nature. There is no mobile phone reception. Booking inquiries (especially for larger groups) can be addressed to the House of Sustainability: Johanniskreuz 1a, 67705 Trippstadt. 06306-9210 130 or hdn@wald-rip.de

Wonderfully idyllic tent and fire place where camping (according to hiking map) is allowed, but in any case is tolerated. There are two smaller lawns with various fire pits, a larger lawn with gazebo and sanitary facilities that can be rented, a shared stream with Kneipp facility and a semi-flowing, always refreshing lake. Great for trekking nights!
