The Elmstein Valley offers a wonderful ascent to Johanniskreuz even before Elmstein starts. The slope percentages always remain single digits and thus there is "enough air" to enjoy nature. The descent is just as beautiful. Pure enjoyment coming from Johanniskreuz to Breitenstein. There you can turn onto Totenkopfstraße and conquer the Kalmit after the beautiful descent.

The Elmsteiner Tal should not be missing on a tour through the Palatinate Forest! Coming from Neustadt / Kalmit there is an easy ascent to Johanniskreuz. Small Palatinate villages and beautiful landscapes can be admired along the way.
