Falkenberg (Elster) station is one of the largest stations in the state of Brandenburg. Railway lines run from the station in seven directions. It is built as a tower station, with the lines on both levels connected by several connecting curves. There are large shunting facilities in both the upper and lower parts of the station.

Until 1945, the second largest tower station in Germany stood here. After massive destruction, the building was demolished and the station was built in its current design. However, it is expected to be renovated.
