The Altenberg Mining Museum offers a comprehensive overview of the 550-year history of tin ore mining in Altenberg, which dates back to around 1440 and only ended in 1991 when mining was shut down. In the historical pewter washing, the show tunnel, the open-air exhibition, the Pinen tour and the mining educational trail, you can experience a wide range of mining activities from centuries-old ore mining underground to modern ore processing.
