Vordingborg Church is on the southwest corner of the old fortress area. The oldest is the choir, probably from the 14th century. The youngest is the ship, which was built in the middle of the 15th century. The church is worth seeing for its beautiful lime painting, probably painted around 1460. (see information board on site)

Cycling
The choir with a three-sided end to the east was probably built at the end of the 14th century as a replacement for the former choir. A major renovation is probably planned, but construction stalled and the current choir served as the choir for the former nave. The church must have fallen into disrepair, because in 1432 the Pope gave permission to use the indulgences to renovate the church. In 1434 it is mentioned that the Archbishop of Nidaros sat in front of the high altar in the then completely renovated Church of Our Lady (Wikipedia).

The nave with the tower and annexes is entirely a Gothic building, the oldest part of which can be traced back to 1432, when the church was raised to the status of a pilgrimage church with relics, indulgences and financial income, according to the papal announcement. The nave and side naves were probably completed around 1470. The tower was added around 1600 and the sacristy around 1700.
