Hiking

Interesting work of art - the chess pieces are mixed with pieces lying on the ground. It makes you think.

The sculpture thematizes the low value of the individual in the Baroque. The rulers regarded the people as pure disposal. The suffering population - whether actively participating in the war or not - represents the pawn sacrifice that was made for the rulers' moves.

Hiking

Here you can visit the sculpture "Peasant Sacrifice". On a 40 m² chess board there are chess pieces as well as standing and lying human figures. The sculpture addresses the low value of the individual in the Baroque period. The suffering populace - whether actively participating in the war or not - represents the pawn sacrifice made to the gambits of the rulers.
