The Katzenbachsee near Zaberfeld in the southwestern district of Heilbronn is a water retention basin that is often used as a bathing lake in summer. The reservoir is located between Zaberfeld and the hamlet of Weiler an der Zaber.

At the lake there is a roofed grill, a kiosk with catering and sanitary facilities, changing rooms and a small observation tower. A path leads around the lake that connects the lawns. The smaller sunbathing lawns in the south and north are primarily reserved for nudists, the larger sunbathing lawn west of the lake for clad lake visitors.

Hiking trails and nature trails lead from Katzenbachsee to the surrounding area and to another bathing lake, the Ehmetsklinge. The lake serves as the club's waters for the Zaberfeld fishing club; fishing is reserved for club members.
