Mühlbach is known as a stone carving village. To this day, sandstone is still quarried here and worked in four factories from brick to stone pieces suitable for sculptures. This "sandstone path" has existed since 2010 through a beautiful park with several allotment gardens. Along this path you can learn a lot about the stone handicraft, here the quarrying and processing of the reed sandstone is shown at many stations. Columns, balustrades, sculptures, tactile steles and numerous works of art line the path through the inner city green zone. The path is also upgraded with seating, path lighting, the border with granite stones and posts made of Mühlbach sandstone.

Anyone who is interested in sculpture and stone sculptures should not miss the many works on the Mühlbacher Sandstone Path.

The first section of a sandstone path, inaugurated on July 24, 2010, begins from the town hall square and, when completed, will lead from here over a length of around 2 km over the war memorial to the quarries.

The first section of approx. 600m leads to Kronenstrasse through the inner-city park. At various stations you can see the breaking of the sandstone and the processing up to the finished balustrade, as well as a tipping lorry that was used to transport stone rubble.

The various sculptures along the path come from various artists who have already taken part in the annual sculpture exhibitions. At the end of the first section there is a replica of an old sandstone wall, in front of which there are differently processed tactile steles made of different materials.
