The lake has a total water surface of approx. 1.2 ha. The water retention volume is approx. 15 000 m³. The maximum water depth is about 4m at the overflow (monk). The lake is fed by an inlet and numerous underground springs. Outlet and overflow flow into Hellbachtal.
A fascinating bird and plant kingfisher, herons, etc. can be found around the Jägersee. Numerous local fish species feel very comfortable in the Jägersee.
Particularly noteworthy are the notorious "Waller vom Jägersee". Giant specimens of up to 1.55m. and up to 60 pounds have been caught in the Jägersee.
Far larger catfish monsters still lurk in the "depths" of the lake and have been spotted several times during the raid.
On the western shore of the lake stands the "Jägersee Hut", a refuge, which was built in 1975 by members of the I.G. Jägersee created in simple wood construction and replaced in the years 1994-96 by a massive construction, expanded and supplemented with a large covered barbecue area.
This barbecue area is for the protection of nature until further notice no longer available.
On the northern bank, a log house was built in 1982 as part of a school project of the Gymnasium Eppingen in an old traditional style. Today it serves hikers as a refuge and rest stop.
Along the western sea route in 2000, a bird trail through the 9th class of the Kraichgauschule Eppingen, with the help of I.G. Jägersee created.
This was in the fall of 2003 with the support of Eppinger business people by the I.G. Jägersee renewed and expanded.
Numerous hikers (also Stadtbahn tourists, etc.) use the located between Ottilienberg and Ravensburg Jägersee as a stopover for your tours through the Epping recreational area.
