The Ruhr is always good for a nice bike tour, but at the moment some lines of the bike path are flooded by flooding or still quite muddy from the flood.

always nice to drive from Essen to Hattingen. Anne Ruhr along, simply beautiful.
Unfortunately, the route behind the floating bridge near Dahlhausen is not so easy to drive.
Unfortunately, the Fietspad = NL = D = bike path is very bumpy over a distance of approx. 800 m. Therefore, maybe it's better to take the flood bypass.

Essen-Steele is a good starting point for tours along the Ruhr. Several S-Bahn and regional trains stop at the station, not far from the river.
