After studying the weather forecast extensively, we decided to go to the Kinzig valley today. On previous tours, we always drove from Flieden and then back by train from Langenselbold or Hanau.
This time we parked the car in Niederzell and drove to Gelnhausen and back again. There were several reasons for this. On the one hand, the route from Schlüchtern to Niederzell is pretty bad and, on the other hand, you don't have to rely on time. It is often the case that when you arrive at the station, the train is just gone, or you rush to get there. In addition, you can choose different route variants in some places. All in all, a very nice route that we will definitely do again in this form.
The tour to Gelnhausen was then also wonderful in wonderful weather. Unfortunately, our "regular coffee shop" in Gelnhausen was (permanently) closed. So we stopped at a newly created beer garden around 1:30 p.m. The operator then immediately informed us that it was about to "rumble" and that he had to close the umbrellas. More or less it turned out that way. There was no thunderstorm, but a nice rain shower. So we drove back again in more or less heavy rain.
So much for the weather forecast. According to this forecast, it should stay fine until late afternoon.

Today I want to visit an old friend in Dietershan. At the same time, new ways should be tested.
The first was from the crossroads above the old American ammunition depot, to Giesel. The path is not bad because it has not rained for a while. Unfortunately, the upper part is pretty battered by a tractor. If it weren't for the job, a great way to come to Giesel.
From Dietershan on I drove on ancient paths. Since I grew up in Horas, the way to Dietershan was often in my childhood. Over the Aschenberg it went over the Hummelkopf (at that time it was still called "Big Oak") to Dietershan. After a soda and caramel we went back home.
I traveled this way. It's pretty narrow under the autobahn, which didn't exist back then. Water and pedestrians have to share the passage. It's best to get off.
From the Hummelkopf to Kämmerzell it is a piece of cake. There you can decide to go to Lüdermünd or towards Fulda.

Today I wanted to try a new tour to visit my grandson (unfortunately he is currently on vacation). So I expanded my circles in the direction of MKK. All in all, a very nice tour on well-paved paths (except. Municipality of Hosenfeld). A wonderful landscape where there is always something new to discover. So I came through places like Laugendorf and Sandborn that I hadn't heard of before.
Nevertheless, this tour will not be one of my highlights. It's always uphill - downhill. Hardly a piece of what is. Contrary to my usual habits, my battery had to hold up heavily.
Conclusion: a very nice tour for mountain goats.

With today's beautiful weather, I wanted to go back to the Vogelsberg. Then I landed at the Hoherodskopf.
A wonderful tour on wonderful paths in a wonderful landscape. The descent over the Herchenhainer Höhe is also a great experience. The view from the Hoherodskopf and Herchenhainer Höhe towards Frankfurt is a particular highlight.
From Hartmannshain on, I turned around a bit in the Vogelsberg. If that is too long for you, you can shorten the route directly from Hartmannshain via the Vulkanradweg, or from Licherode via Obermoos.
All in all a successful day.

A nice lap with what feels like constant headwind. I drove through the forest to Rommerz once. But I turned the wrong way back then. I did that right this time. Although it hadn't rained for a few days, the forest paths were still wet, but easy to drive on.

Today we made a very nice tour in the Bavarian Rhön. The relatively new and wonderfully developed Rhönexpress Bahn cycle path led from Altengronau to Wildflecken and back.
You can park your car at the swimming pool in Altengronau. There is a possibility to stop in Bad Brückenau.

Today we were invited to brunch for lunch. I then started the trip home by bike.
Instead of using Rückers, I then drove across the forest to Oberfeld (Oberfelder Weg) in Marbach. That shortened a few kilometers, but still had a decent incline to offer. The paths were all fine, however.
