In 1536 Anton Fugger bought the house in which the imperial caretaker's apartment was and from 1537 had a representative new building built in its place. The builder Quirin Knoll designed the plans. The building had to be restored after 1945 due to war damage. The district office of the Donau-Ries district has been located in the building for a long time.
