The stone tower was built on the previous nave in 1645. The nave, in its current form, was built in the years 1668–1671. After a devastating fire, the church was restored from 1709-1711 and changed in the baroque style.

Bad Schandau is worth a visit, with the beautifully restored old town. The Elbe lies at her feet.
    The Lilienstein welcomes every hiker.
