The Wasserkuppe is always a sporty destination, whether on foot or by bike. Magnificent views over the Rhön and, if the weather permits, a view of the neighboring low mountain ranges: Vogelsberg, Knüll, Thuringian Forest and Spessart.
For a fee you can climb the observation tower with a great view over the Taunus to Hanau, Frankfurt and the airport. The tower is 25 meters high, was renovated in 2008 and costs 50 cents per person to climb.
Since the Langenberg is predominantly forested, there are very few viewpoints. Unfortunately, there is no view at all from the summit. Still, it's nice to be at the highest point in North Rhine-Westphalia.
