Fijne nazomerdag, zo in aanloop naar de herfst. Al volop paddenstoelen, soms flink wat wind, maar ook veel zon en lekkere temperatuur.

Een stukje van de route liep door het Nonnenland. Vanaf omstreeks het jaar 1300 begon de turfwinning in dit gebied en daarmee ook de ontwatering. Dit in opdracht van het Nonnenklooster in Oostbroek in De Bilt, want zij waren de grondeigenaren. Hieraan is ook de naam Nonnenland ontleend. (Bron: ivn.nl)

De rest van de route door het bos, langs heide en weilanden bood zeker ook voldoende afwisseling.
