Finally a few days in Frankfurt again to meet friends and former colleagues and at the same time enjoy this vibrant city. Of course, we also visited a few of our beloved restaurants.
Frankfurt remains, in my opinion, a must for a city trip. And a practical tip: via Deutsche Bahn you can rent a bike on

Unfortunately, I didn't turn on Komoot on time every time, but I'd still like to share a few tips for Frankfurt:
1. Start the morning with coffee at Café Monza on the Fressgass. If you're there on time, you'll get a front-row seat and can watch the city wake up at a leisurely pace. And the coffee is excellent

Today I rode a wonderfully varied loop again. The route goes via Vinkeveen, through the beautiful Botshol nature reserve and along the winding rivers Waver, Winkel and Vecht. It is a combination of open polder landscape, water and quiet roads that never gets boring. Along the way, one less pleasant sight

Today I cycled a loop towards Maarssen. For a change, I rode along the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal again. Actually, it's a surprisingly nice route. The passing ships, the long rows of oaks, and the view over the water make it a relaxing ride. Along the way, I had to wait a few times for an open bridge. It's

Today I tried a new route and I really enjoyed it. The goal was to cycle as much as possible through nature and that was amply achieved. More variety is almost impossible: polders, forests, heathlands and rivers constantly alternate. Today, beautiful skies were also added, which made the ride extra beautiful

Today I enjoyed a beautiful and varied round along the Vecht, the Naardermeer and the IJmeer. The weather was perfect and the impressive cloudscapes made the trip extra special. At the IJmeer, the water was mirror-smooth, which provided beautiful vistas. Along the way, you pass the characteristic windmills

Today we cycled a beautiful and varied route: through the forests, over the heath, and to the beautiful nature reserve near Eemnes. Most paths there are gravel, which makes the area extra attractive for cycling. A real gem.
Unfortunately, we didn't have time for an extra loop today. Blaricum is also definitely

Today I walked a route that had been on my wish list for a while. Several Komoot contacts had praised it (@Ria van den Heuvel, 🙏). After today, I can fully agree with them.
It is a beautiful and very varied route, but above all impressive. On the Grebbeberg you walk past several monuments that commemorate

The initial plan was to go cycling, but it turned into a walk with a stop for an ice cream from Marche. In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful parts of the Vecht with lots of greenery and not too much development. We encountered the State Yacht ‘De Utrecht’ along the way. The ship is the authentic

I wanted to stretch my legs and this loop is perfect for that. You ride along the water (De Vecht and Spiegelplas) almost the entire ride - highly recommended

Stretch your legs along the Vecht and Vecht villages. It's clearly holiday time because it was quiet everywhere. I'm happy to keep it this way.

After a day of pruning in the garden, we felt like a relaxing bike ride. This loop remains one of my favorites: beautiful nature, varied and easy to extend.

After a day behind my desk, I was ready for a round. I wanted to try something new again and it worked out quite well. You pass by nice villages, beautiful viewpoints and there is a lot to see along the way.

My father (92) enjoyed the Midden Delftland area today on a 3-wheeler. It is surprisingly beautiful there. Unfortunately, no photos this time - but this area is definitely recommended.

After a few days in Germany, it's wonderful to be back in the Netherlands. Today, a relaxed loop to Muiden and Muiderberg, with a lunch stop at the locks in Muiden. A lovely place to settle down for a bit and watch the boats, cyclists, walkers, and tourists passing by. Sometimes you don't need more. What a wonderful day!
