I had discovered another piece of Brabant where we hadn't been: Spoordonk.
The car was parked at the Sint Bernadette church (now village house) and then we walked out of Spoordonk.
After a while, our komoot notified us that we had to turn right and a pony on the other side of the bush also reacted to that

Even on the bike to Zaltbommel to adjust the bike insurance, a short break at Jip, Janneke and Takkie and then with a small detour and shade break at Rossum back home.
Despite it being 10⁰ less, it was still warm... even on the bike.

Loes had made a 2-day walk over the weekend, organized by the orange committee (I was unfortunately too busy with dinners and parties), so this time we took a short walk. Loes would have liked to take a round with the Zandpontje. But when we arrived at the Zandmeren, it turned out that the thunderstorm

This morning we were already on the road at half past five to do a round with the Zandpontje ferry. The sun was already rising, the temperature was still pleasant and the ferry was on our side of the water, so that saved us a few drops of sweat.
Furthermore, it was wonderfully calm and quiet, with lots

Early start with Loes, in the sun and with a cooling breeze it was still doable. During the walk through Hoenzadriel and over the dike, we had a lovely chat again, until we arrived in Velddriel, where Loes went for coffee with an acquaintance and I had to go for an appointment at the doctor's.

The first thing we noticed in Olland was that nice people live there who enjoy a pleasant chat. This was a common thread throughout our walk👍.
We had already seen a small part of this beautiful Brabant, but, as we discovered, there is much more.
Despite leaving early from the church in Olland to avoid

Maasketting: Gouden Ham, Appeltern en Batenburg
Ritselende bladeren, het geluid van de regen
Bloeiende bloemen, de natuur krijgt de zegen
Dwalend langs de rivier, stilte vervult de wandelwens

Today another stage was added to the Maasketting. The counter already shows 640 kilometers. We started a little later and encountered rain at the beginning, but that was more than made up for later 🌞🥵
We were supposed to start at the Gouden Ham, but unfortunately there were only private parking spaces

Today didn't start too well with a constant drizzle. But we had come by bike, so we also had to go home by bike 😁.
We immediately put on our rain suits, helmets on and back via the Europa Radbahn towards the sign 'Welcome to the Netherlands'. There we set off for Groesbeek where we encountered a road

Today, before we started the planned bike tour, we first went past the cairns and the Prins Moritz Pavilion. It wasn't straightforward, we first had to make a steep climb up through loose sand... on the bike. And that was a bit too much for a few of us 😊. But we got there and it was definitely worth

Today was the first day of the annual bike tour with my niece and her husband.
The weather forecasts were not great, but luckily everything turned out fine. The route from Kerkdriel was varied with nice sights along the way, I didn't take pictures of everything because we wanted to be inside in time before

Cozy walk with Loes, with enough topics to keep us busy.
Via the main street of Rossum through the small park and the built-up area with a piece of klompenpad. Then through an apple and pear orchard to Hurwenen and over the dike past the stork mast to our familiar coffee spot. There we met a group of

Today we continued with the Maasketting on the Gelderland side of the Maas. We still had some time for a walk and the Maasketting on the Brabant side is quite a drive. So we decided (earlier) to walk towards ourselves.
The section between Alphen and Maasbommel we hadn't done yet, it has become a nice

Finally an old-fashioned Monday walk, where we reminisced about our youth with all the mischief and adventures we experienced🤭. On the way back, a nice cup of coffee with a cookie from the baker.
On that same way back, we saw at the bottom of the dike a sheep lying on its back, struggling with its leg

Today we went to visit our granddaughter and her husband in Leidsche Rijn.
We decided to get on our bikes this time because the weather was great.
After more than 3.5 hours, we got off our bikes and were welcomed with a big hug and a delicious lunch. As a nice dessert, the other granddaughter with her
