August 16, 2025,🦉Harz: Teufels👹mauerstieg– Großvaterfelsen 🔄 ab Timmenrode
Timmenrode 🅿️ + ⚡️ for the 🚗 as the starting point for the Teufelsmauer😈steig (ridge trail) to Blankenburg. It felt like being in the Saxon 🇨🇭, with narrow paths and small climbing sections in the sandstone! 👍 Beautiful views. From Blankenburg, the hike continued uphill through mostly healthy 🌳🌳🌳 forest through the Sumpftal valley, where we had a picnic 🥪🍾🍌 …

A challenging hike with beautiful views. Surefootedness and good fitness are required. It leads through beautiful deciduous forests and over rocky areas.

Very nice hike, mostly on narrow paths and trails and few forest roads. At first I was reminded of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains: sandy soil and rock formations! Great views and foresight, various stamps, a great tour in the East Harz. Also several places to stop for refreshments along the way and benches to rest.

Today the stamp tour led through the Baroque Gardens to Blankenburg Castle. From there we continued to the Otto Ebert Bridge. 🚶‍♂️
The ridge path of the Devil's Wall should not be underestimated 😈

What a varied hike.

In beautiful weather we went through the castle park up to Blankenburg Castle. The views of half-timbered houses and villas, as well as the stepped castle gardens and the park with old trees, made me immediately slow down.

Just like a year ago, I took advantage of today's great weather 🌞 for World Children's Day, which is a public holiday in Thuringia, and drove to Blankenburg on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains. From the outskirts of the city, I took the southern slope path below the Teufelsmauer to the "Hamburger Wappen" and the "Kuhstall" to the …

Blankenburg and the Devil's Wall: From storms to rain and blue skies, today we experienced everything. First up to the bridge, then back down to the Devil's Wall and then to the Hamburg coat of arms. A beautiful tour near the main office of the Harz Hiking Badge.
