The most beautiful path leads from the grandfather directly over the crest of the Teufelsmauer

Free parking at the sports field in Timmenrode. But best of all you walk directly from Blankenburg to the Teufelsmauer on the Hamburg coat of arms. The shuttle bus is set up accordingly.

The good 6.5 km short tour is perfect to go with children. Grandfather Rock has a wonderful all-round view. On this Höhenkam you go comfortably on stick and stone the good 2.7 km to the Hamburg coat of arms. Halfway along the northern path you come to an artificially created Fuchsbau along, in which one can dive and explore wonderfully. Ideal for children! Arrived at the Hamburg coat of arms, the little ones can now really let off steam and explore the beautiful area, before you can then walk on the now southern path back to the Grandfather Gelsen.

According to legend, the devil's wall was built by the devil himself.

In fact, the formation was made in such a way that the sandstone in the area of the Devil's Wall rose to form powerful layer ribs (as the resin unfolded into a mountain range).
Due to erosion by the weather, the hardened material remained in its shape.

From up here you have a very impressive view over the Harz foreland! On the actual rock of the Hamburg coat of arms you can also climb up, just try it, but always careful! ;-)

Interesting place. Relaxed tour - but sturdy footwear makes sense.

Small children should not be taken on this tour we strongly recommend to take only children from 8 to 10 years
