August 20, 2024,Mosel-Radweg 6. Etappe von Metz nach Sierck les Bains
We are now 4 km from the German-Luxembourg border

Showing Translation

We're "on tour" again! Around midday, we set off from Perl at the border triangle of Germany, Luxembourg, and France and cycle up the Moselle through Lorraine. The weather is perfect for our multi-day bike tour, and we even enjoy a bit of a tailwind.

Showing Translation

If the asphalt is hot, you can only do a short day's stage. But you can definitely take a little more time for Metz.

Showing Translation

The start of our cycling trip from the Moselle through Alsace and along the Rhine to Lake Constance.
The first stage along the Moselle to Metz was a relaxed glide on well-developed cycle paths.
And even the weather became more summery by the hour.
It was beautiful...

Showing Translation

Our journey continues - always along the Moselle or one of its arms or canals. We often lack the overview.

The valley is now getting wider. Sometimes it is so open that the lateral boundary is hardly recognizable. And of course the gradient has decreased. The distances between the locks are now a good ten kilometers long.

Showing Translation

Unfortunately, the battery of my cell phone was empty after 65km and the rest up to Perl was no longer recorded.

Showing Translation

The Tour de France is unfortunately over again. Our first stage led from Metz to the Eiffel Tower..... from Schengen-Perl. 🚴‍♂️🇫🇷
But we don't have much time to rest, the Deutschlandtour starts tomorrow. And it has a lot to offer.... several stages, many kilometers and beautiful vineyards or wine taverns for our stops😀🍷
