This is the last stage of our bike tour through Switzerland. We ride over the Zurzacherberg (i.e. we push our fully packed bikes up to the pass height) and take the first drinking break in Brugg. From now on we are back on the Aareweg, which we already rode a week ago.

We continue along the Rhine. As Swiss, we know the sights of Schaffhausen (Munot, Rhine Falls etc.) very well. Therefore, we continue without stopping. Here too, busloads of tourists are on the move. Due to the drought, however, the Rhine Falls are only a shadow of what they carry in terms of water

We cycle along Lake Constance until Stein am Rhein. There are many cyclists on this very popular cycling route. Most of them ride e-bikes, but mostly only as day tourists.

Today we leave the Rhine Valley and drive through the large nature reserve of the Rhine Delta. The High Rhine flows into Lake Constance here. There is a holiday mood. Everyone is outside enjoying the beach and the lake.

Always along the Rhine, first on the Rhine dam, then through the villages. Yesterday we were thrilled by a heron and a stork. Today we see hundreds of these proud animals searching for food on the freshly mown meadows.

Today we are out and about by bike again. Along Lake Zurich (Obersee) and across the Linthebene to Lake Walen. The cycle path along the lake impresses us. We actually wanted to end the stage in Walenstadt, but only in Maienfeld do we find a free room in a small hotel that we like. An absolute stroke of luck.

Today the bikes stay in Jona. We are undertaking a hike in the Flumserbergen. From Tannboden we hike to Prodalp and take the chairlift up to Prodkamm. Via the plant-themed adventure trail, we ascend to Maschgenkamm. Interesting rock formations (Sardona World Heritage) and alpine flowers make this trail

Our 2nd day leads us from Melligen via Baden, Regensdorf, Flughafen Kloten, Dübendorf, Büsisee (Katzensee), Greifensee to Uster. As we have arranged to have dinner with Christian, Bruno's son, and time is running short, we take the train to Jona, our stage destination for today.

Our annual bike tour is being organized by Bruno this year. We ride via Äschisee, Herzogenbuchsee and arrive at the Aare near Aarwangen. We follow the river to Brugg. A small detour takes us to the stage destination in Melligen. At the Hotel Löwen, we find a comfortable room (no hammock, no tent). We

Weather good. No plans. What to do? Go hiking, of course. On a whim, I travel to Sörenberg and climb the Brienzer Rothorn. The summit is unfortunately in fog. Never mind: I already know the view and the ice cream sundae and the final beer still taste fantastic.
