Cycling north, you'll have a magnificent view of the surrounding area, with the Heerlen skyline in the foreground. It's not only a beautiful mountain bike route, but also an ideal gravel road for gravel cyclists.

The Henriette Neterpad connects the Daelsweg and Imstenrade Castle. The path is partially paved, and the lower section is a sunken lane, typical of South Limburg, where a badger family has taken up residence.

At the top of the hill you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Heerlen skyline!

This technique was particularly common in the 19th and early 20th centuries and played an important role in the construction and agricultural industries. 📍 Location & Surroundings The lime kiln is located northeast of Ubachsberg, on the edge of the Droogdal de Dael, on the Daalsberg hill. It is located near the Daelsweg, the road from Ubachsberg to Welten (Heerlen). Other lime kilns are nearby, such as the Kalkoven Koffiepotje and the Kalkoven Daelsweg, indicating a once lively lime kiln industry in the region. 🌿 Nature & Hiking The surrounding area is part of the marl landscape, known for its calcareous soils, which provide ideal conditions for viticulture and rare plant species. Not worth it. It's privately owned, and the gate is always locked. So you can't enter the garden.

The Kalkoven Daelsweg or Kalkovens boerderij Schneiders is a lime kiln and industrial monument in Dutch South Limburg in the municipality of Voerendaal. The building is located northeast of Ubachsberg on the edge of the Droogdal de Dael on the Daalsberg opposite the farm Hoeve de Daal on Daelsweg 14 on the Daelsweg, the road from Ubachsberg to Welten (Heerlen). The building has been a national monument since 27 March 1997. The lime kiln has been restored and an information board has been placed next to it.

A beautiful path, but going downhill you can easily get so fast and shaken up that I could hardly distinguish the surface.
