Monument "Neanderthals" on the lower Lauchert bridge, as a reminder that caves in the city area made significant Stone Age finds possible.
September 27, 2019
The "Neanderthal" monument on the lower Lauchert Bridge, to commemorate the fact that caves in the urban area made important Stone Age finds possible. Inscription on the base:
"Just as this prehistoric man, hewn out of a mighty limestone block, looks out for himself, so about 50,000 years ago people like the Neanderthals sat in front of the caves around Veringenstadt stands."
