The mighty castle of the Counts of Veringen is a national example of the former castle construction with residential tower. Terrain deformations and the ruins still hint at the former fortress elements. Around 1200, the counts rebuilt the residential tower in Staufer architecture with imposing humpback blocks. Other defensive walls, towers, buildings, ramparts and moats created a strong fortress
