The Hospital Church of the Holy Spirit was built in the middle of the 15th century and almost completely destroyed in 1554 (second city ruin). It was rebuilt in the Gothic style in the 16th century and in the Neo-Romanesque style from 1897 to 1902. The main portal with the figure of King David and the representation of the first Pentecost, the two side portals (Prophet Zacharias and the baptism of Christ as well as the Annunciation scene) and the tower with a tall statue of Mary are worth seeing. There are four altars inside the church.

The foundation stone for the oldest surviving Catholic church in Schweinfurt, built in neo-Romanesque style, was laid on July 3rd, 1898. When the church was consecrated on March 2nd, 1902, the tower was not yet finished in its current height, because despite the implementation of a large-scale lottery to build the church, the available funds were insufficient. It took until 1911 to complete the tower in its full height of more than 56 m.Little specialty: look out for a small brown metal plate to the right of the main entrance. An old height mark from the "Third Reich" is still attached here.

The HEILIG GEIST CHURCH is the Roman Catholic parish church in the inner city of Schweinfurt (built from 1897 to 1902).
It is a replica of a Romanesque cathedral, a three-aisled basilica on a cross plan.
