The consequences of Storm Kyrill are still visible around the Brocken. Dead wood is not cleared away here, as nature reserve. the bark beetle then did its part.

You can see that very often in the Harz, especially when you drive up the yellow Brink. The forest on the left and on the right side of the road has already suffered a lot.

The predominantly forest-leading Glashüttenweg - it also follows the Hexenstieg - makes a scenic access to the highest mountain in the Harz National Park in the border region of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, the Brocken (1,142 m).

It is possible to take the Brocken Railway back to the starting point, while descending to Schierke and returning from there by bus (note bus times at the starting point). Of course, also with the wheel conquerable.

Very easy-to-ride path with a moderate ascent between Eschweg and Brocken streets.

Very impressive sight the dead trees. You do not see that often, especially this huge area.

On this rocky path you can carry your bike up to the boulder children. At the top, a trail runs in both directions.
The Red Dot Trail is a slightly technical S1 trail.
The Kapellenklippenweg is also an S1 trail that winds around the trees and has a few technical points.

Here are many hikers on the way, but when it is empty in the evening, you can really let the bike run! :-)
