View of Windermere from High Pike

Hiking

5.0

(308)

High Pike occupies an enviable position halfway up the eastern arm of the Fairfield Horseshoe, a classic round of the high fells to the north of Ambleside. Not to be confused with another Wainwright fell of the same name in the Northern Fells, it is a conspicuous notch in the skyline when seen from the south, a fine-looking peak that’s certainly worthy of exploration.

    Hiking

A great point along the Fairfield Horseshoe to stop and enjoy the view, particularly down to Windermere. Is this also not one of the longest dry stone walls in the Lake District that runs along the spine of High Pike? It must have taken such a long time to build. A real feat!
