We went for Great Gable and a couple others however after doing Base Brown then getting to the top of Green Gable the wind nearly blew us off the summit and we decided it was too dangerous to continue so headed back down. The mountains can wait for another day.

Only open once a year for the NCPCC Bluebell walk the observatory is a must see if you get the chance. A true hidden gem. Normally the walk is much longer however the woods are still damaged from the winter storms

Try this on the bike sometime. The track is mostly off road from the Tyne all the way to Consett.

Still so much damage due to the winter storms in the park. Brizlee is where the 98mph wind was recorded which is why the Abbey Route is the only part open currently due to the clear up of the storm still around the tower.
