There is always a slight draft in the tunnel and it is pleasantly cool. Especially for children, the tunnel is an experience.

The Hausen 1 and Hausen 2 tunnels are now part of the long-distance cycle path through the Voreifel. It's fun to drive through or to hike through. Great echo effects inside.

Two consecutive tunnels. Hausen 2 with 252,95m and Hausen 1 with 499,35m and in between a viaduct. In the tunnel, it pulls huge so probably. pull the cap slightly lower in the face

This tunnel is one of two former railroad tunnels that are now used as walking and cycling tunnels. They are lighted and paved.

The icy cold wind blew through the tunnel. Since it is illuminated, it is a real experience to walk through it, especially since it saves a lot of meters in altitude.

In 1902/04, the Mayen railway ran through the 252.95 meter long Hausen 2 tunnel via Polch-Ost to Koblenz-Lützel.
The line was closed in 1983.
The Hausen 2 tunnel is followed shortly afterwards by the Hausen 1 tunnel with a length of 499.35 metres.July 17, 2023
