Interesting place where you can learn something about mining in the Nettetal.

The water wheel is part of the "water tunnel of the Moselle slate mine
"Margareta", Nettesürsch.
The mine, which now belongs to the Rathscheck Schiefer Group, has been in operation since around 1900. The water tunnel was built in 1925 by Trimbser
"Kaulemannen" to the pit in the mountain
drifted During the Second World War, it also served as a shelter for the population during bombing raids.
It symbolizes in a special way the importance of slate mining for the people of Trimbs and their history in the last century.
In 2011, the tunnel entrance, which had been buried for decades, was uncovered again in weeks of manual work by Trimbser "Kaulemannen" of modern times. The water from the tunnels of the "Margareta" mine joins the Kellbach and shortly thereafter flows into the Nette. Today, the tunnel area on the edge of the Nette Schieferpfad invites you to linger.”
